Smorgasbord of Sweets

Set-up a table of delectable desserts

hf_eater_3Sebastien’s suggestions

Sweet stations and candy bars have become quite popular at weddings and other special events. Not only do they satisfy our sweet tooth, they also have the ability of creating a focal point in the room with savvy food styling and decor.

• Choose one or two colours (in this case green and brown) and make it consistent. Use a green pop of colour in elements like moss or hanging decorations, napkins, candy and ingredients such as pistachios to top off the item.

• Consider the season and tailor the desserts accordingly. For example in Autumn—apples, pumpkins and baked treats are popular so focus on heartier Fall flavours.

• Play with varying heights. Stations are all about visual interest so use items such as tall glass candy dishes, cake stands and wood blocks to display the different desserts.

• Kid-friendly: Not all parties are adult-only so it’s good to include a couple items that are spoon-free. Our apple pie pops and caramel apples are great pick up and eat options. Adults love them too!

• Add a sign! Ours is a lit metal sign with the word ‘Love’. Or keep it simple with a chalkboard and add your own message to guests.
